Companies looking to expand the avenues of their public relations are increasingly engaging with third-party blogs and online content providers in order to reach a very specific market that other tactics cannot reach.
While this is an appealing goal for many PR professionals, until recently there hasn’t been an easy way to understand and compare different blogs and social media connections in a single place.
However, a recently launched service aims to do just that, by connecting companies with a range of different blog sites which can offer a new avenue for communications.
The blogging directory is called Catablog and it details the various different options that companies can reach out to in order to expand their influence. What makes this service unique is that it offers real-time information on the size of the audience for every blog, across a variety of social media profiles.
Operating across Australia and New Zealand, this service makes it easy for companies to connect with a community that has developed a strong interest in the products they offer.
Trevor Long, one of the developers of Catablog, suggested that this new step would be vital for providing a new avenue of communications for public relations professionals.
“The sole purpose of Catablog is to become the most detailed database of bloggers in the country,” said Mr Long.
“Being part of this directory will mean that PR companies and brands across Australia and New Zealand will be able to contact relevant bloggers when they next plan a campaign or launch a product in their field of interest.”
Currently the website offers connections with over 1,800 different blogging sites. These sites reach a combined audience of almost 6 million through twitter alone, with more being added every day.
